It appears that Apple has been quietly been crediting customers that purchased Season 5 of Breaking Bad, out of confusion between the names used on iTunes versus on AMC. iTunes customers that purchased Breaking Bad Season 5 received a complimentary $22.99 iTunes credit that could be redeemed online.
iTunes has for some time listed season breaks as two separate seasons, where most consider this the same season. Because of the confusion many may purchase a season thinking they have the complete session including the midseason break. The split does create the impression to consumers that they may be getting an excellent deal on the tv season.
What the letter does confirm is that while iTunes is one of the few outlets that uses this confusing naming convention, Apple has distanced itself from the naming convention all together. Meaning AMC and other networks are purposefully creating the confusion according to Apple.
This is an interesting development when considering the future of cord cutting and it’s practicality when watching hot shows.
